3 Productivity Tips for Entrepreneurs

Have you ever found yourself working all hours of the day and staying up late at night to actually get things done? As entrepreneurs we are always adding things to our plate. It’s important to stay productive so we are working smarter not harder and getting things done.

Here are three productivity tips you can implement as a creative entrepreneur:

Create a to-do list

It’s important to write out everything that you have to do at the beginning of the day, or better yet the night before. I recommend doing a brain dump of every task that you have to do so you can get it on paper. Next, you want to highlight all of the high priority tasks that you have. These should be revenue generating tasks such as client work.

At the start of the week, you should create a list of your three goals for the week to hold yourself accountable! Throughout the week make sure you are working towards accomplishing these goals! All of your daily to do items on your list should accomplish one of these three goals, and if it doesn’t it can wait!

Batch tasks

Now that you know what you need to be working on throughout the week, it’s time to plan your schedule. I like to batch similar tasks on the same day. This will help you maintain your focus and increase your productivity.

Here’s what my schedule looks like:

Mondays - CEO Days! I spend Mondays working inside my business: clean out my inbox, work on my marketing, etc.

Tuesdays - Calls with clients! I like to schedule all of my calls on one day for the week so I can be prepared for them and I’m not leaving tasks on the other days of the week to jump on a Zoom meeting.

Wednesdays - Content planning! I use Wednesday’s to work on planning client content. I write out content plans for the strategy we are following and make note of what I need to get done.

Thursdays - Graphic design work! I create graphics that I need to for clients’ posts, stories, and pins!

Fridays - Writing content and scheduling it! This is where I finish writing out all of the captions and get content scheduled for my clients! If I need to write any emails for email marketing clients, I do that on Fridays as well.

Take breaks

One thing that you might overlook is planning out your breaks. You might be wondering why I would recommend breaks, but to be productive you need to take breaks. I like to schedule 15 minute breaks during the day to break up sitting on my computer or staring at my phone! Drink some water and stretch during this time to give your mind a break!
